Paul A. Offit, M.D., is a professor of pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He is an expert on vaccines, immunology, and virology. The co-inventor of RotoTeq, a rotavirus vaccine, Dr. Offit is credited with saving hundreds of lives worldwide every day, and approximately 60 of those saved are here in the U.S.He is the author of several books including Do You Believe in Magic? Vitamins, Supplements, and all Things Natural: A Look Behind the Curtain; Pandora’s Lab: Seven Stories of Science Gone Wrong; several books on vaccines such as The Cutter Incident: How America’s First Polio Vaccine Led to the Growing Vaccine Crisis; and Deadly Choices: How the Anti-vaccination Movement Threatens Us All; and his newest book is Overkill: When Modern Medicine Goes to Far.
