Hello everyone!  

Today we interview Thabata Castelo Branco Telles,  

A strong Brazilian woman that fights for good practice in Science and Sport Psychology but also has fought in many different tatamis and dojos worldwide. Her main aim however was always the same, to research Martial Arts and Afro-Brazilian Martial Arts, for instance, Capoeira and Brazilian Karate. Her scientific career crossed many borders: with time spent in France at: Université Paris-Est-Marne-la-Valée, Institut des Sciences du Sport-Santé de Paris (Université Paris-Descartes), Archives Husserl (ENS/CNRS), in Paris, she was also in Canadá at: McGill University, as well as in Greece at: University of Thessaly. Intensively she has experienced practical exchange in South Korea and Japan!  

Currently, she is Post Doc at the University of São Paulo but since last year she is in Portugal as part of an additional scientific exchange at the Institute of Higher Studies of Fafe. She is also president of the ABRAPESP (Brazilian Association of Sport Psychology). She loves to surf and speaks 6 languages!  In our Podium Cast today, we talked about her publication "Karate, capoeira, and MMA: a phenomenological approach to the process of starting a fight" published in 2018.
