25 years ago, when a Minor League Baseball team was coming to the Jersey Shore, the team was nearly named the Pine Barons, in honor of the unique territory that spans seven counties across the southern part of New Jersey. Now, 25 years later, the team is honoring that near-identity with the Shine Barons, Shine of course representing the silver of a 25th anniversary.
