Abu Bakr in History Supporting role of Islam

Abu Bakr Siddiq (R.A.) spent his early childhood life, like other Arab children of the time, among the Bedouins. In his early years, he played with the camel calves and goats, and his love for camels earned him the nickname "Abu Bakr", meaning ‘the father of the camel's calf.

His full name is Abdullah bin Abu Quhafah Uthman bin Aamer Al Qurashi Al Taymi. His lineage joins with that of the Prophet (S.A.W.) six generations before himself, in Murrah Ben Kaab.

In 591 AD at the Age of 18, Abu Bakr (R.A.) went into trade and adopted the profession of cloth merchant, which was his family's business.
