Jim Jimenez is a veteran FIlipino comic book artist, animator, and lead singer of the pinoy jukebox rock band, J Brothers. In this Drawing Companion episode, Jim and Jerald draw together via Magma Studio with the prompt, "Epiko", drawing Filipino epic heroes, Lam Ang and Labao Donggon, respectively. Video available on the TPKP Facebook Page.
This episode discusses Jim's journey as an artist working in comics during the late 80's. Jim describes the differences and how astounding improvements in technology greatly helped in making creating art much easier. We then stress the importance of hardwork and preseverance to achieve proficiency to work on a high level as an artist.
Jim then tells stories about his band, J Brothers and growing up in his artistic family. From performing in the province to playing gigs in mega venues like the Philippine Sports Stadium. He also recounts stories of getting a record deal, working as an entertainer in Japan, and creating new music, decades after their first album.
