Starter Question: Is there a church leader who has made an impact on your life? What impact did they make?

1.      Read 1 Peter 5:1

2.     Please share about a leader who has been encouraging in your life.

3.    In our church, which leader most embodies spiritual maturity and wisdom to you?

4.    Read 1 Peter 5:2-3

5.     Peter gives us three contrasts for a leader: not forced, but willing; not after shameful gain, but having energy; not dominating, but being an example.  Which one of these is most important to you in a church leader.

6.     Read 1 Peter 5:4.

7.      What does it mean to you that Jesus will recognize and reward a leader’s work?

8.      Read 1 Peter 5:5.

9.      In your opinion, why do people find it hard to submit to a leader?

10.  Both the leader and the led are to humble.  What
helps you be humble?
