· 3 Besides, in my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of my God, over and above everything I have provided for this holy temple…

· Now, who is willing to consecrate themselves to the Lord today?

· 6 Then the leaders of families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king’s work gave willingly.

· 9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.

· 1 Chronicles 29:14 - 14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.

· Why did God give you what he gave you? To leave a legacy.

2. Think about David’s life. What could explain why he wanted to be generous to the LORD’s work?

3. David would not see the Temple in his lifetime. In your opinion, what would motivate people to give something they would never see?

4. David tells about what he will give to show the people the way. In your opinion, what is the best way to distinguish between someone bragging about their giving (Matthew 6:1-4) and someone who shares their giving as a testimony (this passage)?

5. Verse 9 describes the rejoicing of the people and the King. In your opinion, why were they rejoicing? Do we rejoice in giving?
