Like so many other seniors in the class of 2020, Jared Gillen found himself robbed of the chance to finish out his baseball career with his best friends. However, he also never could have predicted the opportunities that followed. Fifteen months later, he’s a first-team all-conference player in the Division I NEC and a participant in the inaugural season of the MLB Draft League. We broke down his entire crazy career, including:
· How the opportunity to play in the Draft League came about
· Why he thinks he’s been able to succeed against higher velocity later in his career
· His progression as an individual through four years at the Division III level
· The impact of COVID-19 on his senior year and the steps it took to move to Division I
· Why he’s been able to relax and enjoy the game more and more each season
· RapidFire, Self-Trivia, and the Fantasy Draft of Position Player Howitzers
· And of course, Jared shared his own Love Letter to Baseball!
