In a time when prominent names and popular teachers are rising among evangelicals, it behooves us to take a step back and re-evaluate ourselves lest we inadvertently cause division in the Church. It certainly is easy to fall into the sway of blindly accepting what a prominent Bible teacher or scholar says on any given topic in Scripture, especially if he showed himself to be competent previously. Nevertheless, let us return to the word of God and remind ourselves how we ought to evaluate our teachers, checking to see if they measure up to the standard God has set for us.
