Today, I talked about Queen Nanny. I tried to piece together her life as there is not much information on her. Queen Nanny is sometimes referred to as Nanny of the Maroons. Today is considered a Jamaican rebel leader by many. It is unknown when she was born and where but many believe she was born in Africa. She die in 1750 in Jamaica. She inspired many black Jamaicans to fight and seek freedom and equality. I will be researching who the Maroons are, what was going on in Africa and Jamaica in the 18th century, what was the major religions in Jamaica during this time, and What life was like for enslaved women in Jamaica during this time.
