Do you ever get stuck in the comparison trap?
Have you ever looked at someone else and thought, “I wish I could do what they do but I don’t have what it takes.” Maybe you even felt jealous. I know I have.
Have you ever been afraid if you pursue your dreams or think good about yourself, you’ll get into pride?
If you’ve ever been on the comparison struggle bus, this episode is for you.
You’ll love today if you’ve ever looked at someone else and wished you had what they had or could do what they do.
If you have ever been worried you’re going to get into pride if you’re reaching for your dreams or celebrating yourself; I’m talking to you.
Another hang-up I see among believers is this concept of pride.
1 Peter 5:5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
“Toward one another” jumped out at me.
Do we “compare ourselves by ourselves”? Which scripture calls foolish.
It’s not about being better than someone else, but being who God’s created you to be and allowing others to be who God’s created them to be. Then the kingdom of God moves forward, and people are reached.
Humility is about knowing who you are in Christ. When we know who we are and Whose we are, we won’t have an issue with pride. We’ll be secure in Christ. We know what He thinks about us, and that’s what matters.
When we’re confident in who we truly are and what He’s called us to, then we can boldly walk in it. No apologies needed.
Do you want someone to come alongside you so you can stop hiding, show up fully yourself and fulfill your God-given purpose, set up a discovery call to see how I can help. https://www.heatherlbunch.com/lifecoaching
