Description

Do you do all the right things and yet feel distant from God?

Or, maybe you struggle feeling like God’s mad at you for your latest screw-up?

Have you ever thought, “I’m not good enough to approach an righteous God?”

Maybe you’re like me, who struggled with feeling like you’re not good enough or haven’t done enough yet. I’m not consistent in my Bible reading. I don’t pray enough. I got mad at my kids for being too loud, again. And on and on goes our list of why we haven’t earned it yet. I’m talking to you today.

I will share something that will set you free–YOU’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Whoo, glad we got that over with.

It’s true; none of us are “good” enough on our own. But, I’ve got fantastic news…shall I say, “Good News”?

Today, I’m going to share a secret that will change everything.

What’s the key?

Grace

The Good News is–we don’t have to be good enough.

It’s not about what we’ve done; It’s about what Jesus accomplished on the cross for us.

It’s called the finished work of Christ. It’s what He came and died and rose again for.

It’s all summed up in GRACE.

Grace in the Bible means freely extending favor. It means He’s leaning towards you to share His benefits.

What’s your image of God growing up?

Some people have an image of God on His giant thrown in Heaven with a fly swatter ready at all times to smack you when you make a mistake.

Mine was God is not only disappointed in me, but I am a disappointment.

You will make mistakes.

You’re going to make bad decisions.

We all do.

Rest in God’s grace when you do.

Know that God loves you and forgives you no matter what.

Ephesians 2:4-7 NKJV

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Does that sound unfair? That’s what grace is–UNDESERVED, UNEARNED and UNMERITED favor.

It’s only grace when it’s one-sided.

So, even though we’re not enough on our own, with Jesus, we’re more than enough.

We can stop depending on our self-efforts to qualify for God’s presence.

When you approach God, view your Heavenly Father through the lens of grace.

Let grace change the way you see Him and yourself.

This will open the door to a deeper, intimate relationship you never thought possible.

Now you can stop thinking about everything you’ve done wrong that you’re already forgiven for.

God’s not holding it over your head, so why are you?

Run to Him instead of away when you make a mistake.

Delight in Grace and Rest in His Love for you!

Thanks a bunch for listening and…
