Have you ever thought after some incident you’re not proud of, “WHAT WAS I THINKING?!”

In this episode, I’m going to show you how to use mindfulness to become your best self.

Here’s the thing; we can’t fix what we know is an issue. Mindfulness puts us in a state so we can see what is and allows us to see what needs to change and what needs to go.

What is mindfulness exactly?

Here’s the ABCs of mindfulness

A - Awareness

See what is

B - Be Present

Be in the moment instead of in your head, in the past or in the future.

C - Compassionate Self-Awareness

You’re not judgmental and you don’t let yourself off the hook. You just admit your issue without the inner critic.

Now, here’s the thing. Once we’re become aware what needs to change in us, then we can do something about it.

How?

1. Capture

Capture in the moment and see the patterns and blindspots so you can look at them. Why do you do what you do?

2. Challenge

Challenge your behavior or feelings.

Challenge your thoughts that led to this behavior.

Ask yourself:

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it helpful?

3. Choose

Choose a new thought, feeling and action.

We have the power to change because we think, we feel and we choose.

It’s in our control.

When you change your thoughts, you change your future. But first you need to become aware through mindfulness what’s really going on.
