Hi and welcome to the skate creative podcast, my names Joel Curtis and I’m a musician and skateboarder.
This weeks guest on the podcast is Neil Urwin. Neil is general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Toms shoes. Neil was also one of the most prominent professional skateboarders of his generation, riding for new deal, reaction, dc shoes and zoo york.
I talk to Neil about growing up in south shields, starting skateboarding, getting sponsored by new deal in the 1990’s and filming for their promo video, his first trips to the USA, managing tours for visiting teams and story’s from the road, and just who it was he and Kingy had to firm but fair with.
We also talk about Neils post skate career and how he applied this skills he learnt trough skateboarding to his new roles in his Professional life.
