The shooting and killing of Ashli Babbitt on January 6 at the U.S. Capitol was an event that curiously served both sides of the political spectrum. The Left uses it to show how the “fanatical” Trump supporters were hell-bent on breaking through those doors so that they could attack members of congress; in their view, Babbitt “deserved what she got”. The Trump supporters, on the other hand, view the killing as outright murder, and use the event to underline the evil of their political opponents. But what really happened in that part of the capitol building, where Ms. Babbitt was so tragically mortally wounded? As a matter of fact: is that really what happened? Based on viewing videos of the occurrence, I give a somewhat different analysis of what perhaps did in fact take place.
