On International Womens Day 2021 Sound Women SW Network Productions published the 1st episode of Afrikan Queens.

Afrikan Queens is a 10 part series celebrating our ancestors and Afrikan Queens and Sheroes that all too often have been forgotten or left out of the history books. The 1st episode of Afrikan Queens sets up the series & explains the importance of sharing this rarely heard of history. We launch the series on International Womens Day as the Queens & Sheroes we will feature are wonderfully inspiring & great role models. So often black history, which is everyones history, focuses just on the trafficking of enslaved Afrikans and the victimisation whereas this series is a celebration of women. We have collaborated with a community project called
Razana Africa to educate, empower & inspire.
Afrikan Queens is produced by Miranda Rae of Sound Women South West. The series broadcast on a network of radio stations all over the UK that wouldnt normally have this type of content and was so warmly received, we are so grateful to all the programme controllers for their forward thinking in sharing this series.
