You may have heard of the Bamboo Ceiling, here we talk about what it is, is it present (yes we think so), why that is the case and how can it be overcome.
We want to live in a meritocracy, where you're rewarded for the value that you provide. Overcoming cultural and ethnic barriers will become more common as time goes on, it's natural, and we live in a time where these changes are happening. But it's only through having these sorts of discussions actively and ensuring they're out in the open that we can increase greater awareness of the bamboo ceiling.
A person should be rewarded in their careers for the value that they provide, regardless of their appearance, race, religion, sexual orientation and gender.
