Alex Oppenheimer is the Founder at Verissimo Ventures, an early stage venture fund. Alex has been involved in the financial world since he traded stocks in the 90s as a pre-teen and was part of the team that took Facebook public at Morgan Stanley.
I wanted to chat with Alex about his learning journey in investing - the lessons he’s learned along the way, what a degree in mechanical engineering has to do with investing and what his thoughts are in general about learning experiences - what matters and what doesn’t. Alex has spent a good chunk of time in completely different learning environments - whether internships, summer jobs, college or Yeshiva - which I’ll call a form of higher education for Jewish religious studies - and in retrospect that has formed his opinion on his previous experiences. Enjoy
