Description

Debra Ashford Huff was born in London, Ontario, Canada. Shortly after college graduation, she moved to Alberta. She has remained in the Edmonton area for much of the time.

Debra has had a fulfilling 40+ year career as a Child Development Specialist working in various early intervention programs. Debra values her experiences of supporting families who have children with delays and disabilities. Her interest in this field started as a young teenager who was especially interested in babysitting children with various challenges.

Debra recently retired from the AHS-Edmonton Zone-Early Intervention Program and now she has time to pursue another passion. She is writing children's books to further her advocacy efforts of supporting young children who have special needs. Her 1st book 'Friends at the Pool' is now available. on Amazon and Indigo. Her 2nd book 'Hold My Hand', Friend; You'll be Okay' will be released in the summer of 2022.

Debra is inspired by her six grandchildren, both by their unique qualities and by how they have overcome their individual struggles. Spending time with these children is at the top of her list of favorite things to do.
