Anupa Roper joins us today. She is a positive body image advocate and author of the incredible children’s book, Sparrowlegs.

Anupa gives us four points to consider when breaking the societal and in many cases, family cycle of body shame or feeling uncomfortable in one’s body.

1. Exploring our own biases – about ourselves and other people’s bodies

2. Considering the language we use when talking about our bodies and other people’s… the children are always listening

3. Take steps to heal our relationship with food

4. Move towards body acceptance (you don’t have to necessarily love every single part of your body – sometimes that is unrealistic in the short term. But working towards acceptance can be a great first step).

You can find out more (including the blog we talked about) at: sparrowlegs.com You can buy her incredible book through her site too.
