Description

We need kids, both boys and girls, to SEE the diverse role models in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math or STEM, cultivate their STEM superpowers and imagine themselves in a sustainable STEM future. As a nonfiction children's book author and educator, Erin Twamley is working to create a new generation of Everyday STEM Superheroes. Through her education consulting company ErinEDU, LLC she shares the diverse faces of STEM with elementary students. Providing hands-on encounters and writing nonfiction STEM books, she aims to empower kids to imagine and say, "I want to be an animator, robotics engineer or a zoologist," just as often as they say, 'actress/actor, singer or doctor.' Mrs. Twamley works with Parent Teacher and Student Associations to visit US schools from South Korea, to Europe to the USA.

Her latest STEM book is a leveled reader picture book called “Capturing Cow Farts and Burps.” This book shares the ways that scientists, engineers, and farmers are working together to make cows less gassy and sharing the science behind caring for our environment. This book will be released by Waldorf Publishing in the summer of 2020. Mrs. Twamley loves to travel, has 2 kids and has lived on three continents.
