Description

Thank you for listening to The Voice of Montbello Podcast! In today’s episode, we interview Jonathan Osborne, a trial attorney. An educator at our school named Mrs. Gorman set up this interview for us because, well, Jonathan is her older brother!

Jonathan K. Osborne is a trial attorney and former federal prosecutor, who concentrates his practice in the areas of business disputes, corporate investigations, and white-collar criminal defense.

In his daily practice, he represents clients in state and federal courts and before arbitration tribunals; leads internal investigations; and defends businesses and their interests when faced with government scrutiny.

Formerly, as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida, Jonathan prosecuted criminal cases involving allegations of fraud; computer crimes and identity theft; human smuggling; international narcotics trafficking; and violent gangs.

Outside of work, Jonathan loves mentoring students and serves on advisory boards for community-based organizations. Before law school, he played college basketball at the University of Las Vegas and the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and obtained a Master of Arts degree from UNLV in Communication Studies.

We spoke to Jonathan to learn more about what motivated him to become a lawyer. We also discussed inequities in the criminal justice system and police reaction to protests.

We are grateful that Jonathan was able to speak with us and a special thank you and shout out to Mrs. Gorman for setting up this interview. We hope you enjoy this episode!
