Pushing yourself to breaking point has immense power. Doing so reveals your current limitations. You now have a threshold level at which you can continually scratch at in order to grow and develop. You don't want to go to breaking point all the time, for example, let's use muscles. To grow a muscle, we don't want to fully tear it. But if we know where this level is, we can dial it back and work just under that level to create micro tears that lead to increased growth. I believe the same occurs in life. Push yourself to your limits, then dial it back and work at that level there, because doing so will actually allow you to propel past your limits.
