Jesus was so persistent in his preaching about "eating his flesh and drinking his blood." The promise in doing so is eternal life. First, we indeed receive the body and blood of Jesus in the form of bread and wine in the Sacrament. Secondly, receive the body and blood of Christ when we live by His word and will.
