St. Lawrence out of love for the Church was executed by the Roman emperor. He was grilled to death. However, his faith in God even made him to tell his executioner to turn him over to the other side of his body in the grill for it was already done. His martyrdom made way for may Christians to grow in faith as evident to the many basilicas and churches erected under his patronage. Our death in Jesus and for Jesus is a seed for more conversion.
