Disneyland’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge has been open for a few years now, enough time for the kinks to be worked out and Rise of the Resistance to finally open. While Linsay and Genevieve are huge Star Wars fans and the production design of the land is breathtaking, they feel that it was a huge misstep. Disney saw the success of Universal Studio’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and tried to create their own version, but unfortunately they fell short. With a focus on consumerism rather than experiences, the land is a huge money pit with not much to do. They also set it in the time period of Episodes VII-IX, a trilogy that didn’t perform well with fans and doesn’t allow for the nostalgia of classic characters like Han, Leia and Luke. Luckily, Avenger’s Campus seems to have remedied some of the issues plaguing Galaxy’s Edge. We take a deep dive into the issues surrounding Galaxy’s Edge, what they could have done better, the ever rising costs of attending Disneyland and the overall issues facing employees who work there.
