Clark Phillips was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and has spent the last 13 years in New York City and Los Angeles as a hairstylist and artist. He is currently based and working in Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico. Before establishing himself in the beauty and fashion industry he was a performer in the band Electric Tickle Machine that he formed on St. Marks Place in lower Manhattan.

Clark Phillips’ approach combines a mastery of traditional technique together with a flare for conceptually-driven hair design, and has been featured in campaigns for Lindsey Thornburg for Pendleton, Lauren Manoogian, CLYDE, Marco Polo and Raquel Allegra and more. Clark has also collaborated with photographers Mario Sorrenti, Charlie Engman, Olivia Malone, Rainer Hosch, Jan Welters, Alia Penner, Bibi Cornejo Borthwick, Neil Krug among many others. Clark’s work has been published in Dazed & Confused, i-D, Interview, Vogue Italia, W magazine, V magazine, and Marie Claire Italia
