Join us this week for the penultimate installment of the book Gentleman Jim by Mimi Matthews. We finally solve the is he/isn't he mystery surround St Clare's identify (i.e. is he or isn't he actually Nick in disguise) and delve into the "truth" about why he's been hiding his true identity. Beth debates why Nick/St Clare never found the time to send a note and Amy wonders why our heroine has no backbone any longer. Also, we review a very anticlimactic Highwayman hold-up scene and try to understand why these two "soul mates" seemed content to live 10 years without each other? It is all very confusing.
Our predictions/wagers for the end of the book:
- St Clare will end up being legitimate after all so no need to lose his inheritance or make any real sacrifice
- But in case that prediction is wrong, he hopefully has stashed some cash away for a rainy day in case he is disinherited by his grandfather (and just in case he is actually able to convince Maggie to ditch Beasley Park)
