The saga continues in our deep dive into How to Wake a Sleeping Lady by Bree Wolf (available to read for free with a Kindle Unlimited subscription if you want to read along with us). In this episode we cover Chapters 1 and 2 and try to understand the motivations of our hero and his baffling life choices. These chapters take place seven years after our Prologue and introduce some new characters - our hero's wife Eugenie (who dis?), his former Father-in-Law Maynard (Nessa's father), Amelia/Milly (his daughter with Nessa), and our hero's mother the Dowager Countess (can't remember her name).
Our minds are reeling as we piece together what happened to Nessa and why Grant has a different wife when we last saw him proposing marriage to our heroine Agnes, or Nessa in the prologue. Amy predicts some pretty outrageous conspiracy theories but all is fair in love and war in Regency times. And Beth makes some daring wagers on how this story will unfold.
