Welcome to Season 7 of the Humans at Work podcast, where we're talking about Humans Navigating Work with our expert guests!
In today's episode, we meet Nicole Turnbull, Founder and Chief Courage Officer at Neon Shed.
With 20 years experience in communications and 10+ years in the work health and safety industry, Nicole has worked for safety regulators, the workers compensation insurer and the workers compensation independent review office in NSW.
Nicole witnessed and experienced bullying, sexual harassment,
discrimination and mental health stigma, some at the hands of the
agencies meant to regulate these issues. In 2016, she burnt out
completely, working 12 hour days with no lunch breaks, working most weekends to keep on top the 200+ emails each day, with a $4M budget and a new team, all while creating programs to support seriously injured people.
Listen in as Nicole chats with host Michelle Crawford
about poor leadership, and the systems and structures that allow
bullying and harassment regardless of a zero-tolerance company policy.
Join Nicole for a World-First experience for the Lived Experience Summit featuring a holistic view of people who have lived experience of bullying and sexual harassment at work.
Listen to stories from people who have been psychologically harmed at work, the experts who support them and the people who previously used aggressive leadership styles.
You’ll also hear from leading psychologists about how bullying causes brain injury, moral injury and the importance of taking a case based approach.
