In Acts 19 we find the account of 7 men who were in over their heads without knowing it. They saw God working through Paul in miraculous ways and attempted to mimic what they thought was a new successful technique, but were met with an opposition they were not prepared for. They ended up fleeing naked and battered because they didn't posses the identity which gave them the spiritual authority to have anything to do with this situation. Paul on the other hand, possessed such an authority that God was working miracles through him, when Paul wasn't even in the presence of the people who were healed.
