This week we look at Matthew 12 and a scripture that often gets broken up into several different parts. But when we do that, we risk taking scripture out of context and coming to wrong conclusions. Looking at the entirety of Matthew 12:22-37 we get an accurate picture of what Jesus is describing when he mentions the strong man and plundering his house, blaspheming the Spirit, good and bad trees with good and bad fruit, and being justified or condemned by the words that we speak...
What we discover when we look at all of this in context is that Jesus is addressing the entire reason he came- to rid us of our sin nature and restore us to a nature filled with the Spirit of God. In other, words, He makes those who would gather to Him willingly right again, and free from the kingdom of the enemy.
