We've all heard a sermon on David and Bathsheba, just usually not at Christmas. So what is there to learn from Bathsheba being included in the genealogy of Jesus? Bathsheba's experience with her King is not exactly a story we want to remember when we talk about Jesus as our coming king. But Jesus is a king, and is unlike any other king on earth. Other kings take, Jesus gives. Other kings are proud, Jesus came humbly. Other kings are focused on themselves and their needs, but Jesus came only thinking of you. He is King and He is inviting you to join him in his kingdom.
