Description

There's nothing more revealing and visceral than a book that brings out your biggest childhood insecurities while, simultaneously, motivating you to strive even harder to accomplish your goals. Today's episode talks about the first few chapters of A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, and I take a few excerpts out of the book to discuss with one of my lifelong friends, Franklin Alzate. He is an aspiring physician, a proud Corgi owner, and a burger connoisseur. We talk about having parents who are immigrants, our upbringings, and some of those unpopular opinions mentioned in our latest Instagram questionnaire.
In honor of Asian American Pacific Islander Month, I will be reading this book throughout the month of May and will be doing a weekly "book study" as I progress towards the end! I would love for you guys to join me; if you wanted to pick up and read along, this episode covers up to page 101, or chapter 1 in Part II: The Postman. I would love to discuss and do another episode with me (who is reading along) next Sunday!
