This evening we are talking about the Exile and reading 2 Kings 24.10-25.12.
My questions for us are:
1. Can you put yourself in the shoes of a Jew in Jesus’ day living back in Israel under Roman rule and waiting for the Messiah?
2. The prophets and NT writers understood the exile to not just be about land, but about being exiled from God’s favour and God’s very presence (the prophet Ezekiel has a vision of God actually leaving the Temple). How do you think Jesus ends this exile?
3. How does this idea of exile impact us today and out relationship to God?
