This was the inspiration for Emily Akins’ new podcast Beginning of Your Life Book Club. What Will was able to have with his mother through books at the end of her life is what Emily wants as a mother for her kids at the beginning of theirs.

Emily is the editorial director at Hallmark, and recipient of the Barbara Marshall Award, which grants one member of the creative community a 6-month sabbatical to pursue personal work. Emily’ project: her podcast which is now up to 6 episodes and has interviewed Will Schwalbe, Kelly Baker, and Daniel Miyares.
