Oxford Dictionary named brain rot the word of the year 2024. The basic definition of brain rot is deterioration of mental or intellectual state as a result of over-consumption of online material. And while we all know what to do to avoid brain rot, I want to bring up another potential online trap in this episode — looking for solutions to a spiritual problem.
There are many books and articles that bring value and provide information for those on the path of healing or spiritual awakening. But no written, or even spoken, material can replace individual experience. And any change or initiation happens only through individual experience, within a line of transmission of a particular tradition. We can appreciate informative value of some online content — but it becomes a little more problematic if we start looking for universal answers, secret practices or solutions to all problems...
