Mary Magdalene in Gnostic teachings is more than just a disciple, wife, or even an apostle. She is the feminine Christ, and an "incarnation" of Sophia in the sense that her path is the path of the Divine Feminine. She is also a recipient and teacher of the inner mysteries that Yeshua taught. In that way she is a mother to many other mystical traditions that emerged after her.
