‘Things are happening, but they are on the slow pace[…] I think still because the ecosystem is still so fragile outside the UN system, there should be other higher positions on upper tier the initiatives are required on the upper tier as well, because without including the marginalised people, to be specific the persons with disabilities, I think if you don't include them in decision making circles, without that no inclusivity is possible in any of the organisations. Ashir Wilson joins us on this episode to take us through his career journey and to give us an insight into his experience with UNDP as a person with visual impairment. His career path has been dotted with both positive moments and challenging experiences, and Ashir maintains a realistic and positive attitude about working in the UN system. His advice to us: ‘Think realistic but hope idealistic!’
