What the enemy attacks relentlessly is your identity in Christ. Your assignment here is tied to your identity. Saul lost his kingship because he confused identity and assignment. Therefore, first things first, be established in your identity. Jesus died for you and wiped away the sin-nature. All your sins - past, present, and future are also wiped away. Once you accept Him as Lord and Savior, you are or again into His family.
Your identity changes with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. You are home is where He is - seated in the heavenly places.
However, the enemy will relentlessly challenge that identity. therefore, settle in who you are, from that position, you have the power to deal with sinful habits.
