Romans 12 1 - 2 - The reasonable sacrifice that ay child of God desiring to follow Jesus is to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable before the Lord. This is a reasonable service to God. At the alter, unlike the dead animals - carcasses, you are constantly bombarded by the option to run away or take off when the heat or fire is stepped up. but to choose to remain at the alter despite stepping up is a reasonable thing to do. It is a place of total abandonment to the service of the Lord. No entitlements or rights to defend. It is the place where the fullness of God is experienced.
