It is not enough to do what is right before the eyes of the Lord. God is not moved by outward appearance but looks to the heart. An intimate relationship with the Father is of greater value than simple cosmetic adherence to a set of rules. Amaziah did what was right before the Lord, but his heart was not right. He started well, but the intent of his heart was exposed sooner than expected. 2 Chronicles 25.
