Daniela Fernandez is the founder of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance ("SOA"), the world's largest network of entrepreneurs and advocates working on solutions for the climate-related challenges facing our ocean. Daniela started SOA when she was 19 years old in her dorm room at Georgetown. SOA’s network now spans over 165 countries and has financial backing from people like Marc Benioff to support climate-focused entrepreneurs. Daniela’s been recognized for her work by former U.S. Secretary John Kerry, U.S. President Bill Clinton, and E.U. Commissioner Karmenu Vella. She was also named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Social Entrepreneurs in 2019. In this interview, we talk about Daniela’s journey starting SOA, how she developed her own authentic leadership style, and the advice she has for young entrepreneurs.
