Description

The Bible is a grand story of exile and reunion. If you’ve experienced loss and broken relationships, reunion might not seem possible. Our Easter hope is that humanity will be reunited fully with God and each other. This week, we read from Revelation about the Christian hope for the restoration of all things.

The season of Easter is a season of restoration. Jesus was restored to life and vindicated against his accusers. In Easter’s resurrection, we are restored too. The hopeless are restored to purpose. The scattered are restored to a community. The injured are restored to health.

Life wasn’t easy in 2020. After a year of global trauma, you are not alone in seeking a new moment of peace, hope, and joy. Join us in the season of Easter as we read from the stories of Jesus’ followers who are restored and given purpose for the journey ahead. May we all find the courage to spread the good news to those around us.

Sermon preached by Pastor Dallas Flippin on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Jackson, MI.
