GRASP WITHOUT REACH
Understanding WITH NO IMPACT

Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

GRASP WITHOUT REACH

• There is a difference between an ideal and a vision.
• An ideal has no moral inspiration; a vision has.
◦ Vision supernatural revelation.
◦ Ideal s inherently acknowledge the distance between how things are and how they ought to be. But they can feel restrictive if having accomplished the ideal becomes your measure for success.
• The people who give themselves over to ideals rarely do anything.
◦ neglecting the commands of God that we find too difficult or impractical.
• A man's concept of Deity may be used to justify his deliberate neglect of his duty.
• Jonah argued that because God was a God of justice and of mercy, therefore everything would be all right. And he didn’t have to go to Niniva
• I may have a right concept of God, and that may be the very reason why I do not do my duty.
• But wherever there is vision, there is also a life of honor, because the vision imparts moral incentive.
• Ideals may calm you into decay.
• Take stock of yourself spiritually and see whether you have ideals only or if you have vision.

"Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, Or what's a heaven for?"

GRASP WITHOUT REACH

• "Where there is no vision...”
• " When once we lose sight of God, we begin to be reckless, and lose self control.
◦ we stop praying
‣ Self sabotage my relationship with God
‣ Why, devil daily accuser.
◦ we block the vision of God in the little things,
‣ what is the little thing that makes you feel uncomfortable to ask God for?
‣ What is that little thing on your heart that you know God put their?
‣ “Father”
◦ We live our lives like Frank Sinatra’s song “I did it my way”.
• Christ’s living example of complete surrender is so impressive
• Am I spiritually aware, today?
• Are we expecting God to do greater things than He has ever done?
• Is there passion and power in our spiritual perception?

GRASP WITHOUT REACH

Understanding WITH NO IMPACT

He walked along the shores of Galilee
From clay he formed the healing balm that caused the blind to see
While stones of wrath lay heavy in their
Hands he knelt to write his mercy in the sand
Jesus came to set the captive free
Showed us by the way he lived the way we need to be
Oh love is more than words could ever say
We must touch them with compassion to help them find their way
How can we reach a world we never touch
How can we show them Christ if we never show them love
Just to say we care will never be enough
How can we reach a world we never touch
Could we be so busy being saved
Trying to impress a world thats long since lost its way
We pride ourselves in being set apart but
We don't have time to touch a broken heart
Even if we found the time to care would we
Take the risk involved in always being there
We hold the very thing they need so much
Sometimes the word of God can pass through just one simple touch
How can we reach a world we never touch
How can we show them Christ if we never show them love
Just to say we care will never be enough
How can we reach a world we never touch
We hide behind these walls and the security of friends
But beyond the stained glass window the world is lost in sin
How can we reach a world we never touch
How can we show them Christ if we never show them love
Just to say we care will never be enough
How can we reach a world we never touch
How can we reach a world we never touch?
