XVIII Week After Pentecost
In today’s episode, we see how God’s justice, wisdom, and mercy weave together in powerful ways—calling us to humility and repentance.
📖 1 Kings 21:17–29 brings a divine confrontation as Elijah delivers God’s judgment to Ahab. Yet even after great sin, we see a glimpse of mercy when Ahab humbles himself before the Lord.
📖 1 Corinthians 1:20–31 reminds us that God’s wisdom confounds the wise of this world. He chooses the humble and the overlooked to display His glory—so that no one may boast except in Him.
📖 Matthew 4:2–17 shows Jesus beginning His ministry with a call that echoes across time: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” His victory in temptation ushers in the reign of righteousness that no human effort could achieve.
Together, these passages reveal a stunning truth: God’s kingdom is not built by pride or power but by humility, repentance, and grace.
