In our "Abide" sermon series, we're studying the Gospel of John (chapters 13-17) and reorienting ourselves back to what it means to be a disciple of Jesus--a person who abides (S.T.A.Y.S.) with Jesus. This week in John 13:1-5 we find that a disciple of Jesus serves in community.
1.) Jesus takes up the towel.
2.) Jesus commands us to take up the towel.
3.) Without community, there is no towel to pick up.
4.) Serving in community produces joy.
