Shalom! Welcome to episode 7 of Overcoming Daily with Anna Johnson.
Today's overcomer tidbit is this... the overcomer meets daily with God.
Now, I know this may seem like a very simple concept. Like one of those foundational things that we get when we come into the faith. Believe it or not, what I have discovered in working with others is that many times believers get away from this concept. They stop praying, like they used to pray. They let the flow of life carry them away.
Matter of fact, I've found this to be such an issue in the body of Messiah, that I started a Sacred Life Coaching prayer support page to encourage the body of Messiah, the coaching clients that I have and know, and love, and also any believer that needs prayer support and encouragement. I created that page on Facebook so that they could be encouraged to pray daily. I even went as far as to design a shirt that says "Pray Always".
Truth is there is no overcoming without prayer. We cannot overcome without prayer. We can look to Messiah. We can look to Messiah. Messiah had a prayer ethic that was indeed supernatural. He is to be our great example of how we are to walk our faith out on this earth. And not only should we pray daily, but we really should give God the first portion of our day. We should greet God in the morning with a "good morning" and we should thank him for waking us up.
Scripture reminds us that in all our ways we should acknowledge him. Unfortunately, many times people only acknowledge God when things are going rough. Or I guess you could say, they're desperate. And God in his mercy, hears us when we cry out to him, even when we have not been faithful with our prayer life.
But without God, we're unable to overcome. And the tidbit to overcoming daily is to meet with him daily. Meet with him daily.
