Shalom! Welcome to episode 16 of Overcoming Daily with Anna Johnson.
Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer provides a living sacrifice. Do you provide a living sacrifice daily to God? Are you living your life for God? Are you making the sacrifices required for the overcomer?
Now, because of the blood of the Lamb, we no longer have to give a blood sacrifice. We're no longer required to offer blood offerings of animals because of the blood of the Lamb. And I suppose, because we've gotten away from this sacrificial system that we see in scripture, that many of us forget that we are still to make a sacrifice daily.
The reality of it is, is there is no overcoming without providing a living, active sacrifice daily unto God. This morning, I was reading John 1:29 and it states...
"On the next day, John saw Messiah Yeshua coming toward him and said, 'see the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world'."
There's much to be grateful here. Because of Christ, we are no longer bound by sin. We also see in the scripture how Christ is referred to as the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. Which means that he was indeed a living sacrifice that made atonement for the sins of all that would receive him - for all of those who would receive him and his cleansing blood.
