We are told to "do everything for the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:31). Silas discusses the importance of doing everyday things for God's glory even if it is waiting for the mechanic to finish with your car. The Bible says, "man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart" (1 Sam. 16:7). The Lord Jesus labored as a carpenter and at the end of His 30 years, the Father was pleased.
